About Project Dolores
Last year, Sheona Devin's mother was diagnosed with Leukaemia. Then Melanoma. It was a tough time for her family: in particular her father who didn't know what to do. Sheona wanted to support her father through these tough times and let him know he wasn’t alone. She came up with an idea based on her father’s love of vintage cars. Acknowledging that, like her father, so many men are struggling with their mental health, Sheona launched the ‘Dolores Project’.
The Project aims to restore a beautiful 1965 Mustang Fastback named Dolores. While this is a great way to honour her father’s love of vintage cars, it is also a means to champion male mental health and get men involved in a group project where they can feel less isolated and more supported by one another.
The fully restored car has been donated to Top Blokes Foundation to raffle off to raise much needed funds for our mentoring programs that will improve young male mental health and well-being.
