Fire Up for Men’s Health Week

Men’s Health Week – 12 to 18 June – is just around the corner. It’s time to shine a spotlight on the wellbeing of males in our lives.

We all know that taking care of mental health is crucial. Let’s dig in and discover some of the simple things men and boys can do to build healthy habits. Plus, we’ve got a fiery suggestion to bring people together and spark meaningful conversations.

Burn off stress with exercise

Physical activity isn’t just for muscle men and sports enthusiasts. Exercise is a great way to boost your mental health. Start small by taking a daily walk or stretching. Or sign up for a fun class like kickboxing. Find an activity that makes you feel alive, and keep that fire burning!

Sizzle with a balanced diet

Eating well doesn’t need to be a chore. Try and challenge yourself to include one extra serving of veggies or fruit in your meals each day. These small changes can make a big difference. And don’t worry! We’re not saying ditch the burger or steak – just add some greens or salad on the side. Get those taste buds sizzling!

Stoke the flame of connection

We all need human connection to thrive. Get the meat on the BBQ (the salads in the fridge!) and provide a safe space for your mates to talk, connect and share feelings, hopes and struggles by hosting Australia’s Biggest Fire Up. Sometimes, all it takes is a simple question like, ‘How are you really doing?’ to open up the conversation. Be there for your mates and let them know it’s ok to reach out for support.

You can sign up for Australia’s Biggest Fire Up today. All donations collected go directly towards supporting young male mental health by giving blokes access to a Top Blokes mentoring program. You can help provide life-saving support to those who need it most. And did you know as soon as you start raising funds, we’ll send you a Fire Up apron and t-shirt?

Crank up the music, fire up the grill and gather your friends, neighbours and colleagues this Men’s Health Week to celebrate good food and even better conversations. It’s a recipe for mental health support like no other.
