In a cross-state meet-up, the Top Blokes Youth Ambassador Council gathered for their latest council meeting, with the boys tuning in from Sydney and Brisbane to connect, reflect, and shape the path ahead.
Diving deeper into our values
The meeting kicked off with something close to the heart of Top Blokes: VALUES.
Led by Top Blokes mentor Toby, the values workshop gave the boys space to dig into what matters most to them, and it quickly became clear how much they had in common. From loyalty and honesty to empathy and support, the shared ground sparked deeper conversation and genuine connection.

“I was taken back by the boys ability to challenge the perspective of their mates. The way they did it was so respectful which led to constructive conversations that allowed the boys to deeply reflect on why certain traits resonated with them as leaders”
– Toby, Top Blokes Youth Worker.
Turning feedback into action
Next, the boys sat down with Dr Christina Jarron, Top Blokes Research and Evaluation Manager, to unpack the results of the recent surveys with parents and carers connected to the young men who are on our programs.
The Council members added their thoughtful reflections on how young men tend to connect with their families and what is needed to help those conversations happen outside the program. The insights were honest, mature, and deeply considered – and they will play a key role in shaping how Top Blokes engages with families moving forward.

Planning for the future
With the one-year mark approaching for many of the boys, the council also took time to reflect on their journey so far and discuss the future of the Youth Ambassador Council itself. What does the next chapter look like? Who will help carry the torch? The excitement for new voices joining the team was balanced by a strong sense of gratitude and pride for the growth that has already taken place.
As the Youth Ambassador Council continues to evolve, one thing is clear: young men are keen to lead. Their feedback will shape the future of youth engagement, and their values will help guide the way. It was a step forward for the Council, for Top Blokes and for every young bloke we are working to support.
